Published market figures put personal injury leads at about $30 to $600 per lead, live transfers higher, and signed cases around $2,000 to $3,200, per the agency and vendor sources below, checked 2 October 2026. The number that decides whether a source pays is your cost per signed case.
These are not our prices.OptiMAX sells exclusive personal injury calls and leads. Every figure here is another publisher’s, linked and dated, shown as market data.
Every row was re-read at its source on 2 October 2026. Figures we could not confirm at the source were left out. Most publishers sell marketing or leads themselves, so read each as that publisher’s claim, not a measured market rate.
A note on one source. Rankings.io publishes an average of $284 per lead and a 7% lead-to-case rate from its own dataset, and alongside them a cost per signed case of $468. Divide the first by the second and you get about $4,057 per signed case, so we show the two inputs and leave the $468 out. The same page puts shared leads at a 2% to 5% conversion rate and exclusive live transfers at about 20%.
Per lead, per call, per signed case
The three prices are not comparable because each buys a different unit and leaves a different risk with your firm.
Pay per lead
You buy: A form fill: name, number and answers. Your intake calls back.
Risk left with you: You carry contact rate and speed. A shared lead also carries the race with other firms.
Fits when: Your intake calls back within minutes, all day.
Pay per call (live transfer)
You buy: A claimant connected to your intake while still on the phone.
Risk left with you: Contact is solved. You carry the sign rate, so check what makes a call billable and hear the recording.
Fits when: Your intake answers live and signs on the first call.
Pay per signed case
You buy: A claimant who has already signed a retainer.
Risk left with you: The vendor carries contact and signing, so the price is highest. Check who signs the client and what your state bar allows.
Fits when: You want fixed cost per case and your bar allows the arrangement.
Cost per signed case = cost per lead ÷ (contact rate × sign rate). A low price per lead tells you nothing until you know how many of those people you reach and how many sign. Run one publisher’s own figures through it:

On those numbers the most expensive lead per unit is not the most expensive per case. Buyers on r/LawFirm say the same in their own words: judge vendors on cost per signed case, and track source, injury, liability and whether each lead signed. That is also how we ask to be judged: tell us your cost per signed case today and the pilot is measured against it.

Published figures checked in October 2026 run from about $30 to $600 per lead, with shared form leads at the low end and exclusive live transfers in competitive metros above $600. One vendor publishes $1,450 to $4,500 per live transfer and $2,000 to $3,200 per signed case. These are publishers’ figures, not quotes.
What is a good cost per signed case for personal injury?
There is no single good number: it depends on your state, case type and average fee. Work out your own from spend, leads, contact rate and sign rate, then compare every source on that number. Buyers on Reddit report that it swings widely by market and by channel.
Why is cost per lead the wrong number to compare?
Because a cheap lead you cannot reach, or one that other firms also bought, can cost more per signed case than an expensive one. Using one agency’s own published figures, shared leads at $50 to $150 converting at 2% to 5% work out at $1,000 to $7,500 per signed case.
Are live transfers worth more than form leads?
They cost more per unit because the claimant is already on the phone, so contact rate stops being your problem. Whether that is worth it shows up only in cost per signed case, which depends on your intake answering live and signing on the first call.
Does OptiMAX publish its price?
Not on this page. Price is agreed in writing before a pilot starts, tied to calls and leads that pass the five checks, with no retainer and no lock-in. The figures on this page are other publishers’, shown with their sources.
Tell us your states, volume and what a signed case costs you today. That is the number a pilot is measured against, and price is agreed in writing before it starts.
